In Ayurveda it is recommended to adjust our habits as the seasons change so we can stay in balance even while the weather shifts. Summer is a naturally stimulating and energizing time, but between the heat and the tendency to over-do, it can also be a draining time of year. In this weekend mini-retreat we will focus on cooling and calming practices to help you to slow down and rejuvenate.
One of the best ways to restore our energy is through sleep, so on Friday night we will have a mini-Ayurveda review (so no worries if Ayurveda is new to you!) and then a class focused specifically on sleep. We will end with a sleep routine that you can use in your own home to support better, more restorative sleep.
Saturday morning will be focused specifically on cultivating a practice of self-empathy as a way to soothe our emotional body and how to use meditation and pranayama as another tool to cultivate peace of mind and a devotional heart.
Saturday afternoon's class will be led by Emily Brown and will be a slow moving and deeply rejuvenating class. If Yin Yoga is new to you, it is a way to release deeply held tension in the body through long held postures. These Yin postures will gradually transition to more restful and restorative poses, leaving you relaxed and renewed.
All participants will receive a goody bag with Pitta Pacifying treats to take home.

Want to bring more meaning into your teaching? In these workshops we will explore the art of theming a yoga class. Many of us become yoga teachers because we ourselves have had a profound experience in our own practice that we wish to share with others. Learning the art of theming is one way to share that experience and connect with the heart of our students. Theming creates a bridge from practice back to life, so that our students can take what they learn in class in apply these lessons in concrete and practical ways in their day to day lives. These classes will include several different exercises and time for practice.
These hours will count as continuing education for Yoga Teachers through Yoga Alliance.
