Vata Yoga and Dance
$50.00
In Ayurveda the passage of the seasons marks a sacred cycle that deeply affects our bodies, hearts and state of mind. Autumn is considered Vata time. It's qualities are cold, dry and erratic. This is the time of year when our anxiety can take over leaving us feeling unsettled, cold and depleted. Through the principles of Ayurveda we can restore balance to aggravated Vata through an attitude of stability and trust. We will learn ways to practice yoga and dance that are grounding, nourishing and calming for wound and wild Vata.
If you are wanting to transition this fall with more grace come and play with us!

Rachel and Kathy artfully created a supportive and loving experience of coming home to your body complete with yummy tea and sweet gifts to continue self-care at home. Each teacher was able to clearly provide accessible, spacious, and relaxed movement techniques that brought both joy and grounding to the body. This is a wonderful workshop for anyone looking to find supportive teachers to help feel comfortable and at home in their body. I’m so looking forward to what comes next from these lovelies!
I felt totally taken care of in this workshop, I showed up exhausted with a headache and left completely at peace, headache free, not joking! We begin by drinking tea and learning about Vata, one of the Ayurvedic doshas, we did some simple spacious dancing and movement, we did some asana, massaged our feet and closed with restorative poses and then Rachel and Kathy sent us home with gifts. The 3 hours felt like they flew by though I was totally transformed at the end of class. The Hidden Door space feels really supportive and cozy!
Learning about Ayurveda from Rachel is very practical learning that you WILL apply to your life, and attending classes such as a Vata class in the Vata aggravated season leads to immediate application there for the taking!
Kathy is a nurturing, supportive teacher that makes us all feel safe to explore movement and connection with our bodies through movement.
These classes and teachers are not to be missed, we’re so lucky to have these offerings in our communities
