Cooling, calming, restorative workshop.

Shoulderstand is considered the Queen of all poses in Hatha Yoga because it has so many benefits to our health. In Light on Yoga BKS Iyengar states, “It is one of the greatest boons conferred on humanity…” It increases blood flow to the head, neck and chest and therefore can assist in thyroid function, brain function and heart health, just to name a few benefits. It can be a tricky pose to get in and out of and difficult to hold with good alignment though. In this workshop we will gradually warm up the body and learn proper alignment in our shoulders, neck and back so that we can luxuriate in shoulderstand and receive the many benefits. This class will be cooling, calming, gentle and restorative- perfect for summer. Appropriate for all levels.


Cooling, calming and restorative. We will learn to use props, practice different breathing exercises and also learn some self massage techniques.
