Ayurveda is an ancient and traditional practice of medicine and longevity from India estimated to be more than 3000 years old. Ayurveda and Yoga are sister sciences, rooted in the same history, culture, philosophy and principles.
Ayurveda is the study of everything about lifeAyurveda is the study of everything about life. In this way it takes a different perspective than Western Medicine. Instead of the focus being on diagnosing sickness or disease and treating symptoms Ayurveda focuses on what it means to be in a state of balance or imbalance and finding the root cause of imbalance. In this way Ayurveda is a wonderful companion to our western medical system and can be a great support in daily life for all of the choices we make about our routine, diet, exercise and spiritual practice.
Because it is the study of all of life, Ayurveda can be applied to every facet of our experience: food, color, music, relationships, work ethic, exercise, hobbies, etc… This can seem overwhelming at first but this system is both intuitive and elegant and can be grasped and utilized by any practitioner.
I am happy to be expanding my offerings of Ayurveda this year. I will now be offering Individual Consultation as well as an expanded menu of classes and retreats. I am available to travel to offer a few of these workshops as well.
These offerings come directly from my own experience of healing through the practices of Yoga and Ayurveda for the last 16 years. I am both honored and delighted to share this experience with you.
